Plastic Ocean

Last summer was spent in Paradise in Tulum, a town on the Caribbean coastline of Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula. It’s known for its beaches and well-preserved ruins of an ancient Mayan port city.

One evening there was a huge storm and the following morning when we went to the beach we had a massive shock! There was plastic tops, bottles, wrappers you name it..everywhere.

Plastic rubbish on a beach

It really hit home how one could be in such a beautiful place and the ignorance of our species can have this dire impact on our our environment.

We spent a few hours that morning along with others helping collect the plastic and put it in bins.

Kids collecting plastic off the beach and putting it in a bin

made a promise to my wife that if there was a way I could help contribute to clearing up the beaches around Tulum when I return home I will.

There is a great charity in Tululm called 'No Mas Plastik' who are committed to the cause. They are a group of concerned people fighting to protect our oceans. A forum for finding out facts about the un- wise use of plastic and how we can live better.

Every product sold at Style has no boundaries will raise £1.50 for the 'No Mas Plastik' charity. Further info
